Jan Murray

My interest in babies started when I was 11 years old. My mother took me to visit her sister who was in hospital after giving birth to her new baby and I was hooked. It was from that moment on that I new what I wanted to do as a career!

Follow Jan on TwitterI started my career as a Registered Nurse in 1979, and then studied to gain my Midwifery Certificate shortly afterwards in 1984.

During the 80's and 90's I gained practical early childhood experience as my husband and I raised our own 5 children. Parenting young babies however, was not as easy as I had first thought, therefore, I furthered my professional education by studying and gaining a certificate in Family and Child Health Nursing. This area of work then became my passion and focus.
Through these years I experienced the maze of parenthood and I would now like to support other new parents with the valued informaton that I gained and continue to gain both personally and professionally.

My love of babies and young children as well as a practical but educated knowledge base has helped me create a service that will put at ease parent's stress and indecision.

Settle Petal began in November 2004 and focuses on offering professional information in infant and child growth, maternal support in the postnatal period and flexible choices in settling, feeding and sleeping techniques that are designed to meet individual needs, thereby creating a positive home environment.
